• 5:30- Babysitting begins for Montessori children and their siblings. If all spots are filled, please contact Kristi asap. Click on the emailed Notes Home link for the signup sheet.
• The number of children under three years old allowed is full.
• Goldfish and a cheese stick will be served.
• 5:45-6:30 Meeting- Welcome by PTO and then meet in classrooms with your child’s teacher.

International Peace Day is Saturday, September 21st – We will be observing it on Friday, September 20th. In previous years, we have participated in the world-wide continuous singing of the peace song.
• The children’s performance will start at 11:00 AM.
• We’ll be singing as a school in our back field for 10-15 minutes.
Parents are welcome to come and watch outside of the dining room door (back patio area).
• Parents of Half-Day students need to let the office know if they want to pick their child up early.
There will not be a time for children and parents to meet before, during or after the singing.
If you are coming that morning, please let your child know that you will be there to watch, but will not be picking up at that time. There have been a few tears in the past due to this possible misunderstanding.
PTO will be hosting a Meet & Greet Coffee and Donuts from 10:00-11:00 in the multi-purpose room.

EZ School lunch reminder – On the 15th of every month, you can sign up for the upcoming months lunches. Please remember to:
• Sign up for September’s lunches.
• Select the “lunchbox” option on EZSchool if your child brings a lunchbox.

• Ends at 8:15.
• If arriving after 8:15, please wait in the car line.

• Please supervise children on the front lawn after PM care pick up.
• Children should not play in the landscaped areas, behind bushes, etc.

Sunscreen and/or Bug Spray should already be applied to your child before dropping off in the morning.

The protocol will be to send us an email before you drop your child off in the AM. Then, hand the item to the staff person upon dropping off. Sarah and I typically read our email before 8:20 drop off or immediately after.

The email needs to tell us:
• Name of the item
• How much to use
• What time to give or apply
• If it needs to return home each day (i.e.) prescription medications

For example: Sunscreen, apply to face/arms/legs before going outside. Or, chapstick, use as needed.

Great Job Everyone – Children and Adults! We’ve had a successful first day of school! A special shout out to the PTO board members who are helping out with School Day drop offs. Thank you!

Taking pictures with our “First Day of School” sign – If you’d like to take a picture of your child with our sign in the front lawn, please do so after 3:00 PM (after our 2:45 car line has ended).

8:20 Car Line – All children should exit the car from the line to get into the school. The only exception would be if your child is having a hard time separating in the morning. Then you should drive past the orange cone to park and help them out of the car.

Car Line Etiquette –
• Please remember to stay in your car when dropping & picking up your child.
• Please be patient while staff members are helping children exit & enter their car.
• Please drive slowly & responsibly when exiting the car line.
• Driving carefully around cars waiting for a child is permitted.
• Please don’t use the gravel area by the storage units to turn around.

  • Children should arrive at school by 8:00 AM, wearing their Montessori t-shirt.
  • Apply bug spray and sunscreen before arriving at school.
  • If you haven’t done so already, please stop in the front office to sign the waiver for this field trip.

Thursday, June 27th Swimming Lesson –

Children should arrive at school by 8:15 AM already wearing their swimsuit. Please remember swim bag.

Montessori will be totally closed, Thursday, July 4th and Friday, July 5th in observance of Independence Day. There will be no daycare.

Drop off info – no event days:

  • AM Care (7:00-8:15) parents will park and walk their child(ren) to the door.
  • All families w/o AM Care will park and walk their child(ren) to the door starting at 8:20.
  • 11:45 dismissal parents will pick their child(ren) up in the office.
  • 2:45 dismissal parents will pick their child(ren) up in the office. 

Drop offs for Field Trips and Swimming Lesson days:

  • Children will need to bring a totally disposable lunch for the field trip. No lunchboxes, thermoses, etc. that would need to be returned home.
  • Elementary parents are welcome and can ride the bus OR meet the class at the French Island Trail.
    • Parents should park their cars in the medical building parking lot near Montessori if riding the bus.
