Thursday, September 10th – PTO Event: Welcome to your child’s class!
- 5:30 Babysitting begins for Montessori children and their sibling(s).
- All spots are filled, please contact Kristi if you need babysitting.
- Goldfish and a cheese stick will be served.
- 5:45-6:30 Meeting: Welcome comments from PTO and then meet in classrooms with your child’s teacher.
PTO Event: Mum Sale –
- Forms w/payment are due by the end of the day, Wednesday, September 16th.

International Day of Peace is Monday, September 21st. We will be participating in the world-wide continuous singing of the peace song.
- PTO will be hosting a Meet & Greet Coffee and Donuts from 10:00-11:00 in the Multipurpose Room.
- The children will be singing and signing the song, “Light a Candle for Peace,” from 11:00-11:15.
- Parents are welcome to come and watch outside in our back patio area.
- Half day children can be picked up after the performance; please let the office know if you’re picking up early.
There will not be a time for children and parents to meet before, during or after the performance. If you are coming that morning, please let your child(ren) know that you will be there to watch, but will not be picking up at that time. There have been a few tears in the past due to this possible misunderstanding.
A few reminders –
Montessori Tote Bag – No charms, keychains, hand sanitizers or toys may be attached to your child’s tote bag.
Sunscreens, lotions, creams, over the counter medicine, chap stick, prescription medicine –
The protocol will be to send us an email before you drop your child off in the AM. Then, hand the item to the staff person upon dropping off. Sarah and I typically read our email before 8:20 drop off or immediately after.
The email needs to tell us:
- Name of the item
- How much to use
- What time to give or apply
- If it needs to return home each day (i.e.) prescription medications
For example: Sunscreen, apply to face/arms/legs before going outside after lunch and/or PM care. Or, chapstick, use as needed.
Send your email to: kgaultmontessori@gmail.com, sarahspelbring@gmail.com and the child’s teacher. This will ensure the item(s) are retrieved ASAP.
Sending things to school via Montessori bag – If you are sending an above-mentioned item in the Montessori bag, please let us know via email. We do not regularly check the children’s bags.
8:20 Car Line – All children should exit the car from the line to get into the school. The only exception would be if your child is having a hard time separating in the morning. Then you should drive past the orange cone to park and help them out of the car.
Car Line Etiquette –
- Please drive slowly & responsibly when entering, driving around other cars in line & exiting the car line.
- Driving carefully around cars waiting for a child is permitted.
- Please remember to stay in your car when dropping & picking up your child.
- Please be patient while staff members are helping children exit & enter their car.
Please don’t use the gravel area by the storage units to turn around.
PM Care Pickups –
- Enter through the office door.
- Office staff will help you locate your child.
- When you arrive to the classroom, it is time for your child to clean up and go home.
- Any unfinished projects can be completed the next school day.
- Gather your child’s bag, lunchbox and/or nap items and exit the school through the office door.
- Lingering in classrooms is not permitted.
