Because it’s that time of the year…

The children play outdoors for 45 minutes daily unless it is raining. Always make sure your child is dressed appropriately to go outside.

Be sure to send your child with a sturdy coat (labeled with their name) as the mornings are often cold.

Re-enrollment contracts went home today in your child’s bag and are due back on or before Wednesday, December 15^th.

If you are re-enrolling, return the contract with the $100.00 registration fee (per child).
If you are not re-enrolling, fill in your child’s name and initial in the upper right-hand corner and return to school.
Current Kindergarteners and Mr. R’s third graders will not need to return any paperwork.

Winter Break Surveys – (Only families with AM and/or PM Care)

Attached is the Winter Break Survey
All families with AM and/or PM Care please fill out and return on or before Wednesday, December 15^th.
A copy went home in your child’s bag today.

No School Monday, December 20^th through Monday, January 3^rd.

Holiday Daycare Days – Students who have AM and/or PM care in their program may attend their regular ours for daycare activities on these days:

Monday, December 20^th through Thursday, December 23^rd.
Monday, December 27^th through Thursday, December 30^th.
Monday, January 3^rd.

The building will be totally closed on:

Friday, December 24^th
Friday, December 31^st.

Holiday Family Cards: If you send out holiday family pictures/cards, we would love to have one. You can mail it or hand it to a staff member at drop off/pick up. We love to hear from past families as well as current families!

Lunch Sign ups – Tomorrow is December 1^st. Please remember to sign your child up for lunch.

Gift Cards – Attached is a gift card order form (a copy was sent home in your child’s bag). If you order gift cards through our program, Montessori receives a percentage back as indicated on the form.

The form with payment (made out to Montessori PTO) needs to be returned by 3:00 PM Friday, December 3^rd.
Gift cards will be distributed by Friday, December 10^th.

Montessoiree 2022 – PTO’s annual fundraising dinner.

The event will take place February 26, 2022 at the DoubleTree in downtown Evansville.
Dinner, silent and live auction.

Montessoiree 2022 Wishlist: Holiday shopping coming up!! The PTO is preparing for our annual Montessoiree. A big part of the event is our popular silent auction, which includes a variety of fun baskets and packages of items donated by individuals and businesses.

If you would like to sponsor a donation, the donations committee has prepared a wish list on Amazon of items for the silent auction. If you order from the wish list, you can have the item shipped directly to Montessori. (Be sure to request a gift receipt so we know who donated the item.) If you have an idea for something that is not on this list – we’ll take it! We love creativity and help of any kind!

Reminders:

Families w/o AM Care must use the car line when dropping their child off at school.

PM care pick ups – Please supervise children on the front lawn after PM Care pick up.

Children should not play in the landscaped areas.
Adults and children aged 3 and older must wear their face mask when entering the building.

Sunscreens, lotions, creams, over the counter medicine, chap stick, prescription medicine –

Normally, parents would fill out a form at the front desk and leave the item there, but now that’s not possible. The new protocol will be to send us an email before you drop off in the AM. Then, hand the item off to the staff person upon dropping off or put in your child’s bag; we’ll get it out before school starts. Sarah and Kristi typically read their email before 8:30 drop off or immediately after.

The email needs to tell us:

Name of item
How much to use
What time to give or apply
If it needs to return home each day (ie) prescription medicine.

For example: Sunscreen, apply to face/arms/legs before going outside. Or, chapstick, use as needed.

Ideally you would send the email to: kgaultmontessori@gmail.com, sarahspelbring@gmail.com and the child’s teacher. This will ensure it’s retrieved ASAP.
